Thekvest Legal Advisory Services was birthed out of a need to alleviate that technical legal “burden” business owners are faced with and to help them to entrench sound legal practices therein. We provide simplified, practical proactive and hands-on legal support to business owners, visionaries and entrepreneurs. We see ourselves as an in-sourced legal partner who serves as their “antenna” in helping our clients navigate the legislative climate in which they operate.
We exist to serve the business community in growing sustainable businesses and are thoughtful advocates for responsible businesses. Integrity is at the forefront of our work and recognizes the privilege we have to be the conscience for our clients as they implement their growth strategies. We believe in using technology to enhance our work, and have as a result developed an easy to use a legal dipstick assessment tool, that enables or clients to recognize the risks they carry, which we help to resolve.
Lerato Thekiso
Lerato is an admitted attorney. Her industry expertise, coupled with her dedication to hard work saw Lerato become a Fortune Magazine Most Powerful Women Alumni this year, after participating in the mentoring programme for 2019, which is a flagship partnership between Vital Voices and the U.S State Department.
Lerato began her career practicing environmental law and has worked extensively with mining companies in managing compliance and risk, as well as overseeing the mine closure process from a legal perspective, before starting her own legal advisory firm in 2016. Over the years Lerato has expanded her scope of acumen and at Thekvest Legal Advisory Services the team’s commitment to clients is to offer legal and advisory services that are embedded with insights, innovation and integrity – across general company/corporate law advisory – tailored to the client, from small and medium sized enterprises and family owned business to high growth businesses.

Lerato also serves as a Company Secretary and is passionate about consulting and working with clients on their corporate governance procedures, with a strong emphasis on ethical business practices. Linked to this, Lerato is equally passionate about using her skills, services and networks to purposefully serve as a non-executive director and an independent trustee for several organisations that make measurable and meaningful impact. She also currently chairs a social and ethics board sub-committee.
As an experienced guest speaker, Lerato always looks for opportunities to share authentic stories and insights that may positively impact organisations and the lives of people who work for them. It is this passion that inspired Lerato to start the Unleashed Leadership Development Foundation, where she remains an active founding member .
